muffintop-less:

Dropping calories too low can cause your body to go into survival mode and cling to stored fat, while using lean muscle mass for energy. This is bad for a number of reasons.
Remember, it is important to maintain lean muscle because the more you have, the more calories you burn just by being alive!
Your ORGANS need calories to function! Your basal metabolic rate refers to the amount of calories your body needs just to WORK properly!! (Your brain, heart, lungs, they all require calories!)
When you lose lean muscle, you lose “tone” and remaining soft and “skinny fat”. So while you might shrink in size, your body COMPOSITION will remain the same (or in fact, get worse).
Lower your calories slowly over a period of time to a reasonable amount. Less than 1200 calories a day is not healthy and not recommended!
